How can you market your own TV Game Show through advertising across a range of platforms, including E-media?
Advertising your game show would mean you can promote it so people get intrigued to watch it. Some methods of advertising are Posters, Billboards, Bus stop advertising etc.
Using TV shows to promote your Game show is an effective way of promoting your game show because viewers might be watching a show on the same TV channel that your game show is on so this will give you an advantage. However it costs a lot to advertise on TV because there is a high chance that advertising on TV will get you the viewers. If you don't make the money you are hoping and don't get the views on your game show then advertising your game show on TV was not a good approach.
Despite TV adverts being very successful, another common, successful and cheap method will also get you the views. Advertising on Bus stops or on busses will mean everyone, tourists and workers will see your advertisement and it doesn't cost as much as advertising on TV. If your target audience for your game show is young people then this will mean you will get your advertisement seen and noticed because like TV advertising young people are more likely to be going out and watching TV.
Another cheaper and effective way would be advertising via email or advertising online. This is also for a younger target audience because they tend to be on social media the most. However advertising online or on social media is much cheaper than advertising on billboard or TV. However, if the target audience for your game show is not young people this would not be effective because adults would usually watch TV more than going on social media or the internet.
Promoting your game show to make people watch it in your advertisement you should make sure you add all exciting things that happen throughout your game show and if you have a celebrity as a host make them your main audience attraction to the game show.

Audience Participation in Game Shows
Audiences are in most game shows which make them more enthusiastic and entertaining. Having an audience in a game show makes the show more entertaining and some game shows are very careful with who they put in their audience because some people in the audience can make the game show that more entertaining if they are related to the contestants. For example in Deal or No deal there is an audience and this helped make the game show memorable as well as it already being a popular game show many people watch. The game show used one of the contestants relationship to make the show interesting and there was a surprising moment where the contestant proposed to his girlfriend. Having an audience gives a game show another way to entertain the viewers as well as having an exciting game to play.
A game show that has an audience is 'Your back in the room' which has 4 contestants that are strangers and they get hypnotised which makes the show more entertaining because they get controlled and they don't know what they are doing. The audience is involved in some events where the contestants might throw food at the audience and the audience will occasionally get shocked or find it funny when one of the contestants do something. Having an audience in this show is effective because it will make it seem real and the viewers will be in the audiences position and believe what they are seeing because there are witnesses. Sometimes the hosts ask the audience questions and make them participate in some of the hypnosis that is being done to the contestants. So maybe the audience will have to cheer for the hypnosis to start or be triggered which makes it exciting for the viewers.
'Lets make a deal' is a game show where the audience are the contestants, the audience members are all dressed up in different things that make them stand out so the host picks them to win a prize. The game show is entertaining to the viewers because the game show made sure that the audience they picked are enthusiastic and confident with a good personality so that its not obvious what they are going to chose. The viewers feel engaged because the audience are as clueless as they are and the viewers and audience both contribute however having the audience is more effective because they can contribute in the show and make it interesting. The audience are picked at random but they make the viewers want to contribute too and even though its repetitive the viewers don't stop watching to see what's going to happen.
GPA: In my game show there will be audience participation because this way the viewers and the audience can get involved and find it interesting. The audience would usually be relatives or friends of the contestants most audiences can joining in and make the show more interesting. The audiences will have seats around the centre of the set so that the contestants and the game is going on inside the circle and the audiences are around them because they are still an important part of the game show.

Game show Theme Tunes
What are the conventions of game show theme tunes?
Theme tunes in game shows usually relate to the game show and the context of the game show. So if it is a quiz game show the theme song would be tense and for a physical game show it would be upbeat and fun. Most often theme tunes have a presenter naming the contestants and host to introduce the game show. Game show theme tunes often also have event where you can hear sounds of audiences cheering and clapping to engage the viewer and make it sound enthusiastic.
Theme Tune I created and How suitable it was for my Game show
Our theme tune was upbeat and matched our game show. There was a tune going on throughout the whole theme, it had moments where it was upbeat and made you want to join in. Our theme tune matched our game show because in our game show it includes different pop songs that need to be finished of therefore the theme song needed to be memorable and stand out over all the other songs that will be played throughout the song. Its not a theme song that you would get bored of or used to and its suitable for all ages. The theme tune had beats and a constant tune, the sound of it was different and nothing that was usually heard or used as a theme tune.
What would I change next time
I would add more to the theme song like a voice presenting the theme song and make the song more unique, add different types of sounds and tunes. Blend them in and create the best theme tune with more sounds and effects to match the game show. Maybe even add a song so it links to my game show, maybe create a very short remix of a pop song that would be in my game show. Also I would not just add tunes and beats I would add sound effects for example a wright or wrong effect for the non diegetic sound of a scene that would be in my game show.

The theme song is upbeat and sounds like a game show theme like an arcade tune. However it doesn't include the audience and some sounds of the game show in it. However it does include a tune that would be used during the game show.

Contrasting game show sets
Countdown and Total Wipe Out
These two game shows are very different and have different ways of working. Countdown is a quiz game show where as Total wipe out is a game show which requires a set of physical activities to be held out by the contestants. Countdown is requires mental work and intelligence for the contestants to be able to solve the puzzles. The set of countdown is simple and has a blue theme so it doesn't look too boring but it is only blue so it doesn't look so childish because the target audience is mainly adults who enjoy solving puzzles where as little children would find it boring. On the other hand Total Wipe out has a range of sets and activities for the contestants to participate in. The set has a blue (water) and a red theme the blue is because of the water because most of the activities are water sports. The sets have different layouts in countdown the host is with the contestant and in Total wipe out the host is hosting from a separate room because he doesn't join in the activities. The host room is plain with a large window to shoe the viewers the contestants whilst the host is speaking. Countdown is just a plain room with desks for everyone to work on. Total wipe out sets are different for each stage and even though the hosts try to make the show in countdown, total wipe out is naturally funny because of the activities and the fact that it is outside and the contestants fall into water each time they fail. Total wipe out is usually held in the summer because they have water sports so the scene looks good too because of the blue sky.

Contestants in Game Show
What are the most important considerations for producers when selecting contestants?
The contestants in a Game show need to have many talents, achievements and need to be fun and entertaining to promote the Game show. In some cases the producers would ask contestants to say something ridiculously amazing about themselves and will expect the contestants to make the episodes of the Game show memorable. Producers will make sure the contestants don't have a boring background so the viewers and the audience get amazed or shocked when the contestants talk about themselves. In quiz shows where the contestants need to be intelligent so they will need to confirm their studies and school life which will intrigue audiences. The producers are looking for contestants with a good past and consider things like if they have been to prison and why if they have just because of safety reasons. Producers will be responsible for anything that happens between the show and the contestants because some might have bad health and something might happen. The producers select different contestants for different reasons they might select a not intelligent person for quiz shows to make it more entertaining and funny for the audience.
